"The spirit of rock is alive and well in....Port Orchard? When propositioned by friend to venture the 60 miles (18 if you take the ferry) to Port Orchard I said "Hell ya!". You, as well as most sane folks, would likely have said "Really?" And you would have missed out. In a banquet room still lingering with the smoke from cigarettes of fishermen long dead and dank with the spilled drinks from family gatherings most people tried to avoid, I was engulfed by the rough-around-the-edges rock prowess of a fledgling band and truly overwhelmed by the musical potential of Rory OK and the Worst Band Ever.
Spawned out of the juxtaposed space between the gritty Bremerton Navy yard and the evergreen covered hills of Port Orchard suburbia, the music of Rory OK reflects the odd marriage of influences that shaped the band members geopolitical location. Learning to unify, the often contradictory, values of suburban areas in the Northwest has had a noticeable impact on the genre blending of Rory OK. There is angst and irony in equal measure to their sound."
"Rory O.K.'s songs are fast, loud, hooky and over with before you've got the chance to get bored of them... The result is a setlist that, song after song, gives you enough volume to notice, enough pop that you remember it tomorrow, and is obnoxious enough to love in-spite of yourself. All that with a beat you can dance to."
Rory O.K. is from Port Orchard, WA. Luther Cassidy, Pablo Phares, and John Breslin III.
