ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bamboo Wind is an Asian-styled album featuring the flute and ancient traditional Japanese and Chinese instruments such as koto, shakuhachi, taiko drums, gongs and strings. A contrast of light, dramatic and relaxing moods grace this beautiful album with the beautiful flute playing of Rosalind heard on most of the tracks.

Japanese Waterfalls features the koto and percussion and weaves a moody, atmospheric piece, halting and
cautious with instruments moving like caged tigers. Stalking, waiting.

Bamboo Warrior is exciting throughout with a strong taiko drum opening , orchestral strings, gongs and bells. An dramatic battle with koto and harp glissandos create a mysterious and emotional story with romantic flutes accompanying.

Butterfly Wings is a light, airy and happy melody with shogan woodblocks, katana drums, shakuhachi, harp and koto reminiscent of dancing butterflies.

The Wandering Monk and the Warrior Monk tell two different stories. The Wandering Monk is a lonely journey, exotic, mysterious and emotional while the Warrior Monk is filled with sparkling energy, moody and beautiful, with an edgy koto theme & unexpected rhythmic touches.

Chinese Moon is one of the most popular tracks on the Bamboo Wind album.

Golden Fireflies
Dramatic Japanese soundscape with ancient traditional instruments: Mysterious flute, shakuhachi, koto, katana drums, clappers, gongs. Moody and beautiful, with an edgy koto theme & unexpected rhythmic touches. Exotic mysterious passionate.
