Since it 1st charted in 1989 Ross Wilson's version of 'Bed Of Nails' has been a staple of Australian radio and covered by artists such as Paul Kelly, Barbie Davidson (NZ), bluegrass outfit Uncle Bill as well as co-writer Eris O'Brien and a recent acoustic version by Wilson on his 'Tributary' album.
Strong demand for the song has been sparked by its use as the theme from ABC-TV's (Australia) hit series 'Bed Of Roses' currently in its 3rd season. The TV theme is sung by 2011 chart-topper Megan Washington & that version is also now available at to download @ CD Baby. But what we have here is the original by Aussie Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer Ross Wilson lifted from his current compilation 'Mr Eagle Rock, The Best Of Ross Wilson'
Well represented on CD Baby here's what has been said about his 2010 album of new material
"A strong rock record with just a touch of country, "I Come In Peace" shows exactly why Ross Wilson should be viewed as Australia's own John Fogerty, Mick Jagger and Delbert McClinton, all rolled into one. Best known for fronting and leading both DADDY COOL ('Eagle Rock', 'Come Back Again', Hi Honey Ho') - who broke all sales records for an Australian artist in the 70s - and MONDO ROCK ('Come Said The Boy', 'Cool World') in the 80s, Ross also wrote hits for John Farnham ('A Touch Of Paradise'), produced ALL of Skyhooks seminal work, discovered Jo Jo Zep & the Falcons and the Sports, and has been acknowledged in print as an influential figure by international artists including Elton John and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. 'I Come In Peace' is the kind of accomplished and career defining work - an encapsulation of everything that's gone before - that will finally see him get his due as an artist."
