‘Round Midnight, the self-titled debut CD from the New York foursome offers a fun mix of classic barbershop songs juxtaposed with some modern crowd favorites. The recording features original arrangements of songs by ‘Round Midnight’s lead singer, Wayne Grimmer. A protege of legendary barbershop arranger Ed Waesche, Grimmer offers 3 new barbershop arrangements on ‘Round Midnight’s first outing: Anytime At All, Since I Don’t Have You, and Try A Little Tenderness (with introduction by Ed Waesche). There are also barbershop classics such as Don’t Be A Baby, Baby (Boston Common) and Sing Me That Song Again (Waesche). Rounding out the CD is a group of more modern songs such as Moondance and Shout! by arrangers Marshall Webb and Deke Sharon.
