Roy Porter was born (July 30, 1923-January 24/25, 1998) in Walsenburg, Colorado to a miner and his wife. The Family moving the Colorado Springs. The Big Band Jazz music heard on radio coming out of Colorado Springs influenced Roy's musical roots. Told in his own words Roy Porter retraces his life and musical career in Jazz. Tucked away for 18 years in the basement of the editing director this DVD is compiled and restored. The video footage became the legacy of Roy Porter Jazz Drummer, historian, and lecturer. " The Career Mr. R. P. The DVD narrated by Southern California University Jazz educator, recording artist, sessions drummer, clinician Loen Ndugu Chandler, as well as, commentary by the editing director James "J.
