Album Notes
THE RUSE came together in New York City in the spring of 2004 when three long-time friends - singer John Dauer, guitarist Jim Bilus and drummer Jason Young formed the band with Atlanta bassist Mark Stolze -. By the end of the year the Ruse was playing some of New York City's hottest music clubs and had gathered a devoted following of fans.

The Ruse headed west at the beginning of 2005 in support of their debut record Invasion and set up shop in Los Angeles. After spending much of 2005 building a fan base in Southern California, The Ruse hit the road again in September with another coast-to-coast tour. The latter part of 2005 would result in the creation of the bands sophomore independent album Light In Motion.

The new record, released on February 28th 2006, has taken the band to the next level. Soon after the release, the band received multiple award nominations for Light In Motion and a myriad of strong reviews.

THE RUSE just wrapped up a two-month national tour in July that included a slot on the BMI showcase at the Florida Music Festival in Orlando, as well as a number of sold out shows across the country. Their music is also featured in several episodes of MTVs new reality show "The Hills" this summer.

I haven’t heard a more solid album then “Light In Motion” in the last year or so
The Ruse first caught my ear with their debut record “Invasion” and now they are back with their follow-up record and it doesn’t disappoint. With a heavy influence of U2 this struck a chord with me right from the get go. You know that period in time when U2 was putting out a few bad albums in between some really good ones, this is the type of album you probably would have wanted instead of those crappy ones. The Ruse is one of my new favorite bands. I haven’t heard a more solid album then “Light In Motion” in the last year or so. 10 tracks in total and each one better then the one before it. This album shows the tremendous amount of growth that the band has experienced between albums and I look forward to seeing just how big the Ruse will get. (JK)

Lighting mine (and your) music taste
I have listened "Light In Motion" twice and i can say that it is really a very good album. Ok, maybe it isnt the best of the best but what album is like that? The Ruse reaches an incredible level of complexity with this EP and some of the songs of the album could work as huge singles (examples: "Everything Comes With A Price", "Devil In The Girl" & "Hold Tight").

A speechless cd...if you wanna know what good music would be mixing Crosstide and Coldplay aim for "Light In Motion".

Light in Motion
I bought this as a present for my husband and he says that this album is fantastic. Well worth the wait as we could not get from UK.

The Ruse rules..
Great job boys. The first 4 tunes are world class I must say! I definitely think you have enough songs to put together a major label release! Good luck friends! See you soon hopefully!

A great CD with upbeat energy yet not overpowering.
Most CD's have one or two great songs but all of The RUSE Light in Motion music is fabulous. Designers in my firm like its upbeat yet not over powering rhythm.

Great music!
I purchased this album for my sister and she absolutely loves it. I've listened to a few songs myself and must say, they are truly an amazing band. This group is definitely worth checking out... Thanks CD Baby!

I'm a new fan of The Ruse... Their music is outstanding! It's a bit like U2 and Coldplay, but completely original. Love, love, love it! :)
