ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It's Been A Long Time Coming is the culmination of a musical journey lasting several years. This debut recording by the Russell Sledge Continuum aims to pay homage to the players and the style of Jazz that flourished in the 50's and 60's. Containing mostly original material from Russell Sledge, with one from pianist William Knowles, the remainder of the CD is rounded out with music from bassists Paul Chambers and Oscar Pettiford and the legendary John Coltrane. If Swing, Be Bop, and Hard Bop are to your liking, then this CD should have no problem fitting in nicely with your current collection.
