Album Notes
With the release of Ruston Mire's second full-length album, "Driving Straight Up In Siam" (Roam Records), it's evident that the band has no intention of resting upon their laurels. As an anxiously awaiting fan base continues to scour club listings and radio dials, the Mire has prepared and is now delivering what is arguably their best material to date.

Straight up ...
I was lying on a "Bed Of Glass", staring at "The Hole In Her Chest". It was a rainy day outside apartment "23 A". But within "A Matter Of Days" CD Baby sent "Straight Up In Siam". It felt like "Halloween" all over again. A "Vacuum" filled with "Poetry", slowly becoming "Undone". "The Convergence Zone" was reached and I was _so not_ "Sorry Sorry" that you "Grind Your Teeth". This one is a keeper. What was I going to say? Ah shite, now "I Forgot My Lines"... Wait: A wonderful assemblage of catchy tunes, witty lyrics and just good melodies. No duds on this CD!

rhythmic, melodic, catchy and strange.
The latest from Ruston Mire is rhythmic, melodic, catchy and strange. The lyrics are a bit sparse at times, but the grooves are so infectious it's easy not to care. The guys are capable of successfully rendering both catchy pop and quirky experimentalism within the confines of a single tune. Great stuff!
