ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
RvR finds inspiration from rock, classical, and jazz and his music reflects life events transformed into stories of an insatiable desire for love and emotional connection. Using guitar, bass, keyboard, and piano, he writes songs that carry strong beats and diverse chord progressions.

RvR first developed an interest in music growing up in South Africa. After moving to Sweden at a young age, he bought a guitar and started a band with friends. RvR played acoustic guitar covers at parties in college and then moved to the United States where he first lived in the Washington D.C. area. In three years there, he absorbed rock culture and the art of performing by attending concerts almost every week. After moving to California, RvR began to pursue multiple instruments, build a recording studio, and start writing songs.

In his 2009 debut album "My Heart is Humming" RvR brings together a collection of original songs, featuring a synthesis of rock vibe and blues. His 2011 EP "Mercurial Mai" has five new songs that display a more varied sound and wider set of musical arrangements. The title song has been made into a video filmed on location in the San Francisco Bay Area. His latest releases include the singles “Love Conquers All” featuring Tara on vocals, the violin rock instrumental “Desire”, the string quartet "Passion", and the jazz funk instrumental "Midnight Mojo" with accompanying video.
