Album Notes
Ryszard Wrzaskala was born in Znin, Poland. He achieved a Master of Arts from the Conservatory of Music in Wrocław and become music director/conductor of the Legnica Symphony Orchestra. After wining first prize in a song competition, organized by the Polish Radio, he moved to Warsaw, where he was active as a composer and arranger for the Polish National Radio&TV, and later nominated as a music director/conductor of the world famous "Mazowsze" Dance Company of Poland.
In 1969 he emigrated to Canada. He continued to compose in many genres; classical, jazz and pop, wining over thirty international awards, including three gold medals for his songwriting skills. His symphonic music was performed by many Canadian and foreign orchestras and soloists. His twelve piano pieces are used by the Canadian National Conservatory of Music and published by the Northern Lights. Polish publishers PWM and "Syncopa". Recipient of several distinctions; Medal "For distinguished services to the Legnica Province", Poland; Diploma " Distinguished Services to Music", from Cambridge, England and others.
