Vigil Keeping

by Saffie

As heard on Canada's CBC morning show "Fresh Air", this trio of female voices blends beautiful acappella and acoustic arrangements into a smooth mix of traditional Christmas carols and seasonal folk tunes. Not your typical Christmas album.

Album Notes
Saffie is a band of female vocalists/musicians with a penchant for singing cover tunes that have a lot of harmonic potential, held together with one awesomely versatile male percussionist who happens to dabble in a host of other instruments. But really we're just Chris, Jo, Sarah and Jeff, a bunch of camp friends who have been singing together since the early 90’s because we love the music we make together and we have a lot of fun making it. The name Saffie evolved when people started to ask us to sing publicly, and it became our official name when we created our first (and only, so far) CD, "Vigil Keeping". We have continued to sing together at various venues since the recording, but have been slowed down the past couple of years by our families and day jobs. We are planning on making another CD together in the near future, though, because we just have too good a time making music together not to.
