ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"I have used this music in yoga class and also on our last retreat and it is fabulous, so resonant and peaceful. It really is quite magical...if you want music to relax to or for 'healing arts' it is perfect - a really slow tempo, hard to find!"
Kathleen (Australia)

samjjana offers soul nourishing sacred sound that reunites listeners with the profound stillness and peace of their inner realm.

‘Gently Now' is a deeply soothing, hypnotic album, ideal for meditation, massage, yoga, natural therapies, relaxation and rejuvenation, whether listened to intently or played in the background. It also helps insomniacs sleep and calms children and settles them to sleep.

It features, the ethereal hang, Native American Indian flute, sansula and peaceful sound effects (Tibetan bowl, wind chimes, gentle stream and bird calls that transport you instantly into a serene nature setting.)

It also features exquisite guitar work by Grammy Award winning Costa Rican musician Edin Solis, who invited Maia and Pratika-Sahayak into his studio for some musical exchange and spontaneously created this divinely inspired piece of genius.

Most of the album is played to a heartbeat-style pulse beat of the hang's base note - hypnotic and soothing, with plenty of space between the notes to honour the eternal silence from which all sound arises, and for the powerful impact it has as an integral part of the music.

Also threaded through the album is the vocal theme ’Om Shanti’.

“samjjana offers a wonderful opportunity to bathe in the vibrations of divine love, healing sound and pure consciousness."
Satananda (Costa Rica)

Simply Beautiful
I have been in search of something new and inspiring for a while. In my busy life I find myself looking for things that help balance me and return my focus to the heart & soul rather than the mad pace and the senses.
I had the pleasure of seeing Samjjana "live" when Deepak Chopra toured Australia and was so moved by their music that I bought this CD online immediately.
Nice warm production, the tracks follow on smoothly from one another - as a compliment to one another rather than a contrast.
Enjoy
