ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Experimental Pop/Young Person's Fantasy: Not country music - a symphonic, electronic spiritual journey. Totally different and a completely pleasant listening experience. RainBow Rider includes both studio and live improvisational work by Sam Utah. There is poetry, drama, sweep and a progressive spiritual journey built into Sam's orchestration. The inspiration, title, image and cover are used by permission from a painting by Downe Burns (www.downeburns.com).
This album is based on a "concept" and it includes Sam's impressions of a morning ride after the rainfall. It starts with a spoken word section about a young rider who mounts his Arabian mare and along with his dog they all ride out to a rainbow and then they go inside the rainbow for some "light-therapy". The rider finds the experience exhilarating and illuminating and you will too. This is an album, mostly for pre-teens, that rewards the patient listener. There are jewels in the sands of time and Sam points them out for you. A relaxing musical journey for the growing child or young adult.

A joy in listening. Relaxing, beautiful music. Could feel and sense the emotion in the music. Each piece builds on the previous one, and actually could feel that I was inside the rainbow. Love Like the Sun is exquisite, could feel the suns rays making everything pure. A magical, mystical piece of work.

Perfectly enjoyable musical journey
This is my 3rd Sam Utah CD. It is the best yet, evidencing growth and confidence in its exceptional, soothing ride into relaxation and completeness. The artist's addition of vocals is a positive enhancement. The poetry is provocative and reminiscent of and an improvement over Rod McCuen of the 1970's. In short, I like and heartily recommend this CD to my friends.

An Outstanding Album! Bravo!
Some of my favorites from Rainbow Rider:
Rainbow Rider. Guitar! And the grand piano --
excellent new motifs to introduce at this time. The feeling here is that of glorious ascension --
outstanding, soaring, joyful rising! The fact that
such sensations can be induced by the music you are playing is in itself a sheer triumph of craftsmanship.

"Love Like the Sun". The masterpiece. I can't
say enough about this. A hint of Gregorian chant and a healthy dose of heaven. The alternate theme
highlighted in this piece is superb, complementing
the other main theme perfectly. The antiphonal structure of the theme adds a feeling of breathing in and breathing out..
