Fantastic album by a terrific artist
Mr Yervinyan I've really enjoyed listening to this album ever since I discovered you on YouTube. You're a terrific artist and hope you keep producing new compositions and new recordings.

The Monet of Violinists
In the same manner that Claude Monet was capable of producing beautiful, imaginative and profoundly interpretive works of art with his paint and canvas, Dr. Samvel Yervinyan, similarly, is able to do so with his violin and bow. He is a consummate artist, musician and composer. His gift lies not only in his skillfulness, but in his unique ability to evoke profound sound and emotion from his 300-year-old French violin, which touches one's heart and soul in a way in which no other violinist will or can. He has the superb and unique ability to make his violin sing, talk, weep and rejoice. There is no need for any vocals with Samvel. He gives his violin a voice, one you will never forget...

Performing solo, he is capable of completely captivating and mesmerizing you with his exuberant, emotional, and precise performances. This man is the fastest, finest and most interesting violinist I have heard, and is reputed by many to be the best in the world. His style is unique and dynamic. On this CD, he has beautifully integrated his classical training, with some funkiness and new-age undertones, with remarkable seamlessness. His varied background and experience become abundantly apparent in this glorious compilation of works from Charles Aznavour, Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as nine of his own wonderful compositions. It is masterfully composed, arranged and performed.

Samvel Yervinyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and is of Armenian descent. He began playing the violin at the age of seven, and was considered to be a child prodigy. By the mere age of 14, he was performing in the Philharmonic Orchestra. Upon graduation from Tchaikovsky's Music Conservatory, he was chosen by the faculty to perform at the graduation proceedings, after which he received a standing ovation by all in attendance. He thereafter obtained his Ph.D. in music from Yerevan State Musical Conservatory in 1993.

Although a well-known, recorded and respected performer in his geographical area, Dr. Yervinyan rose to international notoriety and fame after he joined Yanni, in approximately 2003, as a result of his well-deserved exposure. He has added tremendous depth, beauty and sophistication to Yanni's music. One need only listen to "The End of August" or "Until the Last Moment" to experience this man's abilities. It was only a few months ago that a YouTube video, entitled "Yanni's Best Violin Performances" intrigued me, since both of my children play the instrument, that I learned of the indomitable Samvel Yervinyan. I was so impressed with his abilities that my children and I spent the rest of the night searching for, and listening to, as many of his performances as we could. He is a pleasure to watch. He carries himself in the same proud, meticulous, intelligent, intense and warm manner with which he plays his instrument.

Also being of Armenian descent, I cannot express how it touches my soul to hear my cultural music integrated, in such a magnificent way, with other genres of music. This CD will appeal to virtually everyone. It is purely instrumental, involving a minimal number of instruments. However, the music is anything but minimalistic. It is very complex, brilliantly composed, extraordinarily interesting and impeccably recorded. Samvel's performances on this CD typify his amazing ability and versatility.

If you truly appreciate unique, sophisticated, interesting, and beautiful music, composed and performed by a musical genius, I can wholeheartedly recommend this CD. His music will truly enrich your life, as it has mine. Bravo, Samvel!
