Track # 8, "You're Just In Love" is Sandy's first recorded duet with her mother, Fran Brickner, who Sandy credits as her greatest mentor. It was her mother who started her into guitar lessons at age 10. Track #10 "You'll Never Know" is a song that Sandy learned to play on her guitar when she 11, a melody she thought then and now to be one of the most beautiful she has ever heard. Along with Sandy's skills on her 6 and 12 string guitar, listener's will also hear her co-producer of this album, Jamie Peck playing the baritone sax, flute, strings and piano (including ragtime), Rodger Hoard on lead and rhythm guitar, drums, violin and banjo. Lending his talents on the bass and harmonica to this album was Sandy's second husband, Ron Lusco, whom she married in 2005 with whom she had an active music ministry until his passing in 2011, the result of an 18 month battle with brain cancer.
Though this album contains no original tunes, Sandy Lusco Huffman is an accomplished songwriter and performer. Her performing and writing of lyrics and melodies began when she was 13 and to date she has written 150+ gospel, country, pop, folk, holiday and children's songs. At 14, Sandy's mother took her to a recording studio to make her first demo of her first 5 original songs. By that time, both of her parents were actively searching for opportunities for her talents to be heard. At age 15 they entered Sandy into the Jamboree U.S.A. sponsored "Starquest" competition. It was on the stage of "Jamboree In The Hills" ( Brush Run Park, Ohio) that Sandy (known by her maiden name Sandy Brickner) performed an original song entitled "I Love That Country Music" and was awarded a year's contract to become the youngest regular member of the weekly live/radio show "Jamboree U.S.A," held at the Capital Music Hall in Wheeling, WV (the same show that would later give country singer Brad Paisley his start at an even younger age). She opened shows there for many nationally known artists such as Alabama, Hank Williams Jr., Alan Jackson, Tammy Wynette, Ronnie Milsap, Porter Wagoner, Donna Fargo, Johnny Paycheck, Bill Anderson and Boxcar Willie and did some traveling shows with the Jamboree staff band "The New Generation Express." At 17, she recorded her first record of two original country tunes with the Jamboree U.S.A. staff band, under the JAM label (a compilation album of regular Jamboree artists). Since then she recorded two cassettes, one of a mix or originals and cover tunes and the other of 22 original children’s songs. Her first CD “Where Are You?” contains 15 original contemporary Christian songs. "Love Forever Lingers On" is Sandy's 2nd CD project of mostly inspirational country tunes. She composed all the lyrics and melodies for all the songs on that album, with the exception of a bonus track of her mother, Fran Brickner, singing a song she wrote and originally recorded in the 1960's, entitled "Whitewood Acres." Her 3rd Album "All The Way Home" is a collection of Beloved hymns, along with one original gospel song and one written by her oldest son Jered Reeves. Her 4th album "Classic Country/Bluegrass/Gospel Favorites CD also contains 2 original Gospel songs.
