Suspended Apprehension is one of the few groups that masterfully blend together the soulful beats of electronica with the beautiful and moving sounds of jazz, hip hop and rock. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Suspended Apprehension combines the sumptuous voice of Natashia Williams with the smooth and gritty voice of Mike de la Rocha, creating a new and rare approach to music. Along with Producer Cesar Mejia, S.A. (short for Suspended Apprehension) thrives on the unexpected, bringing together three diverse, talented and established artists.
After years of working with critically acclaimed groups and projects, the three members released a collaborative single in the fall of 2004 and are now working on a full-length album. As Mike de la Rocha states, "We're writing a very real and moving album that explores issues of love and uncertainty. We're intentionally crafting music that you can dance to while writing about personal experiences that helped us heal and grow."
Aside from Suspended Apprehension, the three members have years of experience working within the entertainment industry. Natashia Williams is an established actor, model and performer who has starred in numerous television shows and feature films, including "She Spies," Two Can Play That Game, and Nickelodeon's hit show, "Romeo!" In addition, Mike de la Rocha sings in Kinematic, a Los Angeles-based rock act making headlines throughout Los Angeles and around the country. Besides his musical career, Mike also organizes as a youth advocate and mediator. Cesar Mejia completes the chemistry of the group serving as S.A.'s main producer and Chief Audio Engineer at Bombshelter Digital Studios. Cesar's credits include collaborating with Herbie Hancock, Chicago, and Blair Underwood as well as music production for the Discovery Channel and the Public Broadcasting Station (PBS).
As Cesar Mejia states, "Although we have other artistic outlets, our goal is to create timeless and lasting music together. We're all aware of the potential of this group to make genre-defining music that inspires and motivates people to continue creating and exploring different styles of music and sound."
Suspended Apprehension recently finished recording their highly anticipated debut EP at Bombshelter Digital Studios and mastered it at the world-renowned Capitol Records in Hollywood, California. In addition, Natashia Williams and Mike de la Rocha recorded and filmed a music video for "Forever In Our Hearts," a song benefiting victims of the tsunami tragedy with Brian McKnight, Mya, Sonny Sandoval (P.O.D.), Nate Dogg and many other well-known entertainers and musicians. With an August 2005 record release date, the album is planned for immediate release across the country and is getting major attention from Billboard's Hot 100 Dance Countdown.
According to Natashia Williams, "For all those skeptic of the new movement and revolution in music, take a seat and listen."
