Album Notes
I was born September 19, 1985 in Orange County CA, and was adopted by my lovely parents Tom and Shelley Evans. Ever since I was about 5 years old I have loved music and invented little songs around the house. My parents, seeing my propensity for it, bought me a little tiny kids keyboard and I taught myself how to play some songs, though I wouldn’t seriously start learning to play until a few years ago. My first love would definitely have to be singing! I grew up on Bob Marley and The Beatles thanks to my Dad, and was mesmerized by the beautiful melodies and haunting deliveries. When I got into Junior High I discovered Mariah Carey…..I know the music can get a little sappy , but oh her voice! I fell in love with her voice and would sing it at the top of my lungs! (much to the dismay of my whole family.) So, I was enrolled in singing lessons. I trained with Mrs. Giordano for almost 6 yrs improving so much and learning about my own voice instead of trying to emulate others. I went on to Saddleback Community College and studied theory, voice, and all sorts of music history from the greats of the classical world, to rockin’ rollers, (that’s right, they have history of rock at Saddle back:) They also have a songwriting class there… I fell in love! I discovered in that classroom that I had a talent for composing songs, so I hit the ground running and wrote lots of songs:) There are so many great teachers at Saddleback, many of whom I will remember until the day I die, but, alas, school was not for me. I felt strangled by the other subjects and decided to leave.(stay in school kids:) I have been writing and performing ever since and am loving it. My band and I are currently playing the Orange County and Los Angeles scenes hoping for opportunities to play in front of a wide variety of audiences. Hope you are in one of them!!
