ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Jazz At Home" was Jazzology Record's top selling CD of 1997. Still fresh and toe-tapping as ever, jazz banjoist/vocalist Cynthia Sayer and her top-notch ensemble, all hailing from her home of New York City, offer a joyful and unforgettable musical experience of 1920s and '30s Jazz.

Cynthia Sayer's hot, swingy sound will expand or even shatter assumptions you might have of the banjo. She is internationally acclaimed as one of the top jazz banjoists anywhere. Her vocal and multi-instrumental talents add even more to the mix. Ms. Sayer tours regularly and is featured in concert and at festivals worldwide. Her television, radio and film credits are extensive, both in the USA and abroad. Her dazzling list of credits includes appearing at The White House, performing with The New York Philharmonic, being a member of Woody Allen's New Orleans Jazz Band, and working with many top artists ranging from jazz greats Wynton Marsalis, Dick Hyman, Bucky Pizzarelli, Marian McPartland and Milt Hinton to Bela Fleck to actors Bill Cosby and George Segal. She is even the subject of a Trivial Pursuit question ('90s edition).
