Spirit, creativity, passion. These three words are personified by singer / songwriter Sean (Kaneali’i) Tiwanak. Born and raised on the island of O’ahu, Sean is a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools class of 1985. Growing up during the 70’s and 80’s, Sean experienced a broad musical diet (plays ukulele, guitar and piano) and over the past 30 years in music, continues to grow and develop as an artist, performer and songwriter.
Sean’s first locally released CD “Home To Me”, released in 2007, is an artistic statement about his life, blending contemporary pop and contemporary Hawaiian music. Originally created at a time when he was uncertain if he was going to survive his battle with heart failure; Sean made this CD so his family and friends could gain a better understanding of the man within.
Once released to the public, Sean’s music began touching the hearts and lives of people from all walks of life in different places around the world. The most meaningful part of music for him beyond entertainment is providing hope and inspiration to others. It is Sean’s continued goal to create music that is fresh, meaningful and has a broad worldwide appeal.
Sean has several years of experience in the recording industry from his years spent on the East and West Coast of the of the mainland. During that time, he created numerous tracks and produced a CD, “Better Days” that was placed into limited release on the West Coast. Several tracks from that project are being reworked for a future release.
Sean is also working on TV and Film placement for his music. He is currently writing tracks for an upcoming CD featuring acoustic guitar, with songs that are inspired by life lessons the past few years. Active in supporting community and health organizations, Sean’s life, music and words of inspiration continue to touch hearts and offer hope to others.
