Album Notes
Who am I?

I grew up watching the "Brady Bunch" in suburban New Jersey, and from this very Brady beginning, I soon discovered that the world was not as sugar-coated as network TV would have had us believe, so I stopped watching television at an early age, focusing instead on creative projects, like writing and composing songs on the upright piano my Grandmother generously gave me.

After receiving more degrees than I will ever need, I began working for an airline directly after Grad School for the sole purpose of traveling around the planet to discover new and exciting worlds. Besides meeting interesting and beloved people in far away lands, my exploration also opened my eyes to political and environmental atrocities, which led to my activism in Human and Animal Rights. I now concentrate on Peace and Justice issues, especially locally in my home-town, San Diego, California.

I am a self-made, organic musician and song-writer. I record all of my own music in my solar-powered, mobile studio which I bring out to the desert during windless days. This creates a natural sound-proof studio better than any boxed-in building in the city. Desert silence creates an amazing crispness to sounds.

Please visit my website (www.drewsearing.com) to discover my other talents and works of art: musical, literary, and visual.

1 ALEX'S SONG is about living in the now.
2 THE 100th MONKEY is an amazing example of our mind's capability.
3 THE ALIEN INDIAN OF SEDONA knows that humans can evolve above fear.
4 THE LAST SLOTH SMILE would be a bad thing to see.
5 THE JACKRABBIT OF THE SALTON SEA read my mind instinctively.
6 THE LEGEND OF THE TEE SHIRT was written when I was fifteen years old.
7 POO @ THE ZOO tells it like it is.
8 ETHEREALITY is an escape.
9 LOVE IS A BROKEN TOY among other things.
10 POLLY VON is the story of a hunter whose life was undone...
11 THE PALINDROME SONG is one palindrome after another.
12 THE DRIVER IN FRONT OF YOU may one day be you.
13 ODE (to the NIGHTINGALE) is a tribute to Carole King - lyricist extraordinaire.
14 THE LAST SLOTH SMILE (reprise) is more of the same.
15 SHARE, JIMMY, SHARE please?
16 WE ARE connected to everything in the universe (whether we want to be or not).
17 LULLABY WRINKLE puts me to sleep; how about you, kids? ; )

Kid's voices are sung by Hannah Dicus, Sarah Searing and Alex Dicus. All other voices, sounds, and instruments are by me, Drew Searing (except the excerpt stolen from Saint Cher). All songs written (except Polly Von which is traditional), recorded, produced, and whatever elsed by me, too. I'm hoping that Indigo children of all Ages will enjoy my creation.

Wonderful songs with a message!
These are wonderful songs that convey love of the earth, animals and people. Would make a great gift for kid or an adult.

Five Stars!
A series of fables in song. Brilliant. Educational. A new-age "Peter, Paul, and Mommy."

poo at the zoo? hooray for drew!
not only are these songs fresh, poetic and thoroughly enjoyable to sing along to, they are filled with an undercurrent of political awareness and social goodness that will stimulate both children and adults alike. this is definitely a children's songbook in the traditional sense: the songs are filled with entertaining anecdotes, alter-ego imaginations, and informative, but not sermonizing, life lessons. but don't be fooled into thinking that these are simple-minded children's songs. there is much more going on here. this is art as it was intended to be: revolutionary.

of course, children will enjoy the sing-song lyrical phrasing and pop-folk musical hooks of these original and organic compositions, and adults will notice and appreciate songs that speak to the importance of fulfilling and living an honest and principled life. years from now, the children who have been exposed to these songs will marvel at their willingness to stand up to the prejudices and inequities that will most likely taunt them. and adults will look back with pride for having advocated and exposed themselves and their children to such high art.

thanks, drew, for your thoughtful and beautiful contribution to the world.
