“The unending clatter of jackhammers was what drew me to my window. Down below, city workers scurried like ants collecting the rubble left in the wake their brothers’ destruction. The once proud and well-crafted cobblestone sidewalk torn up in favor of a new walkway of cement and steel. It gave me pause to consider this thing we call progress. What stories would those bricks tell us if only given the voice? Does progress really move us forward, or is it yet another way for us to erase and rewrite history? I turned, walked back to my desk and began to write. The song “Cobblestone†was born.â€
Seelie Court is proud to offer their brand new, long awaited release, “Cobblestoneâ€.
It's filled to the brim with Seelie takes on classic Celtic songs (like “Bedlam Boysâ€, “Hares on the Mountainâ€, “Paper of Pinsâ€, “P is for Paddy†and “Johnny Minerâ€), topped off with a sprinkling of maritime amusement (in Randy Dandy O and The Wreck of the Nancy Lee), and served up with a heaping side of original songs by Jon Baade (including the smash Parrothead inspired hit “Dancin in the Sandâ€) and topped off with one original tune by Lindsay Jensen.
Not only is it a “must own†for every Seelie Court fan, it’s a “must own†for every fan of Celtic music!
