ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sam grew up in Honea Path, South Carolina, and played piano at the insistence of his mother Ms. Maggie Mae Robintson. Sam began playing the piano at the age of 7, under music teacher Ms. Bobo, who taught him early the fundamentals of music fingering, reading, study routines, and hasn't stopped since. Realizing early on that music and more importantly the piano would become his lifelong passion, he attended music classes in Temple Junior College, and graduated from the Central Texas College. Additionally, attended classes in the Peabody Conservatory of Music, in Baltimore Maryland. While in class Sam would slip in a couple of original pieces which to his surprise elicited quite a positive response from some nearby patrons. As Sam recalls "people asked 'What's the name of that song', when I told them it was an original they replied 'it's sounds smooth, classical, and jazzy'." Those positive affirmations early on obviously had an effect, as today Sam continues composing melodic piano pieces that both reflect and transform the listeners' emotions, and are as always "smooth, classical, and jazzy". "Rain," Sam's first complete full length recording featuring 8 solo piano selections that will engage your imagination, and emancipate your spirit. All songs are original compositions.
