ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Shaggy Wonda’s brand of high energy roots rock was born in the mid-western college town of Bloomington, Indiana, which the band calls home. This mixture of world culture and good ol’ Indiana living is the cornerstone of the band’s personality and music. Influences that range from bluegrass and jazz to hip-hop and Americana allow Shaggy Wonda to explore a wide variety of musical styles and feels. However, it is the soul, sweat, and tears behind it that give the sound its definition of rock n roll.

Shaggy Wonda is now focusing on making the jump from local to regional/national act. In the past year the band has opened for national touring acts like Steel Pulse, Mofro, Karl Denson, Oteil and the Peacemakers, and Umphreys McGee's side project Omega Moos. The band has booked its first major festival dates including Summer Camp in Illinois, Celebrate Fairfax in Virginia, and Utica Music Fest in New York, as well as a number of smaller regional festivals. In planning the trip to New York we were also able to line up several other shows, establishing the first of what we hope to be many tours of the East coast. The band has also received radio play from numerous independent and college radio outlets, are in the process of shooting their first music video (self-produced), and have begun work on a second studio project.

The most crucial element to the bands success is the team of dedicated crew members that work behind the scenes to keep the wheels turning. Whether it be hanging or mailing fliers for shows, networking on the internet, sending promo kits, making phone calls, loading and unloading gear countless times, or just making sure there is beer in the fridge at practice, someone from the Shaggy Wonda extended family makes sure it gets done. Our incredible support network enables us to accomplish the day to day business tasks that are essential to any band’s success. We have also put the logistics in place that allow us to travel and commit the amount of time needed to take us to the next level.

With administrative tasks in good hands, the band members’ top priority remains creating music. The band is continuing to perfect their brand of driving, melodic rock and blues with new material coming together all the time. The product that is Shaggy Wonda puts a fresh face on a classic rock and roll attitude that has appealed to the masses for decades. Our little operation may be new to the game, but what we lack in experience we make up for in hunger and drive. Given the opportunity there is no limit to what we can achieve. Shaggy Wonda…had no idea!
