ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The shamanda_project's work is about persian music. The singer, Mandana Alavikia, comes from Iran and lives currently in Vienna/Austria. She is working in different groups/projects/performances with the theme of oriental music. Bernie Rothauer/obaxe-music is located in Salzburg/Austria. He works as a musician (percussion, guitar), teacher (percussion), composer, sound- and mastering-engeneer. He is the owner of the label "obaxe-music".

When I met Mandana a few years ago, we immediately fell into a musical love affair...and began to work in the studio...over the time it grew more and more, up to the point where we had songs for 3 CD's. What you find here is a selection of these works.
The spectrum of the Shamanda_project is very wide, sometimes our music sounds like a meditation, sometimes like a movie-soundtrack, sometimes it's like HipHop...
One of the most important things in our music is the unconventional style of working with persian music (many of the themes/words are traditionals). We always try to give these wonderful melodies a new, "original" and modern sound.
Hope you enjoy it!
