Album Notes
Shane Harluk is ready to share his music. Like most singer/songwriter/musicians, Shane has loved music his whole life. As a child he remembers being prodded by his father to get up on stage to sing at a wedding. One moment, one memory but the beginning of a dream. A realization of the power of music. As a teenager, he spent endless hours listening to all genres of music but always had a special love of Country music. A youth in the 80's, he sang along to Kenny Rogers, George Strait, Waylon Jennings and so many other greats. He remembers how Country music changed in the 90's with the new sounds of Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and even Shania Twain. And he sang along to all their songs with his warm rich voice that took family and friends by surprise when they heard him. But it wasn't until his mid thirties that Shane tried his hand at recording. At a small Calgary recording studio, with just his guitar in hand, he recorded a handful of cover songs as a birthday present for his wife. He went on to write most of the songs he recorded for his first CD - "Forever Aint Long Enough". His songwriting is reflective of the life experiences which all listeners can identify with and his singing reminds you of why you love Country music. Shane co-wrote "The Sound of You Gone" with Troy Kokol who earned a SOCAN award in 2008 for "Pickup Truck". It is the first release to radio from a singer/songwriter born from a love of country music. "I love how something so simple can touch so many people, in so many different ways - Its the magic of music and the most elusive and greatest reward for an artist".
