Album Notes
Shane Theriot returns with another groove heavy collection of 10 original tunes dripping with New Orleans injected-funk and burning guitar.

Joined by a cast of legendary drummers including Zigaboo Modeliste (The Meters), Jim Keltner , Richie Hayward (Little Feat) and New Orleans icon Johnny Vidacovich, Shane masterfully rips over these grooves while still allowing the funky backbeats to take the front seat.

Also features slide-guitar master Sonny Landreth, and on horns-Mark Braud (Preservation Hall Band), Roderick Paulin (Maceo Parker) and Kirk Joseph (Dirty Dozen Brass Band). Bass virtuoso Adam Nitti and studio ace Hutch Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt, Brian Wilson) hold down the low end. Johnny Neel (Allman Bros., Govt Mule) shares the keyboard duties along with David Torkanowsky. Doug Belote drums (Jerry Douglas) also appears on one track.

As a solo artist, Shane’s 3 solo projects (Hwy 90, The Grease Factor, Dirty Power) feature an original mix of New Orleans grooves and funk guitar with Jazz/rock overtones.

Shane has also Recorded and/or performed with-

The Neville Brothers, LeAnn Rimes, Jewel, Willie Nelson, John Waite, Idris Mohammed, Leni Stern, Boz Scaggs, The SYN (with Chris Squire and Alan White from YES), Shannon Mcnally, Harry Shearer, Maria Mulduar, Forest Whitaker, Aaron Neville, the Lee boys, Little Feat, Sam Moore (Sam and Dave), and many others have tapped Shane’s talents both in the studio and on stage.

He has appeared in Guitar Player, Guitar World, rolling Stone, Downbeat, Modern Drummer and many other publications.

As a composer, Shane’s music has been featured in many television shows including Food Network, MTV, and Discovery Channel.

Shane has also written instructional books, including “New Orleans Funk Guitar” for Warner bros. publications and been featured as a contributor to guitar player magazine.

Dirty Power
I had the good fortune to have Shane play on Johnny Vidacovich's "Vidacovich" CD, of which I was the producer. Shane really has a gift of flawlessly going between sideman and consummate leader. He really has the inside track of creating funky grooves using a varied set of instruments, meanwhile playing bass on a few tracks as if that was his bread and butter instrument. If you are an admirer of New Orleans drumming, Shane includes some of the best guys in town, each one with a different twist in delivering a solid pocket upon which to build. A real tasty CD that is a great listen.

corky newman

One of the best Guitar players on the planet.....
My favorite CD of all time is his HWY 90 Cd...This one shows how much Shane has grown in his song writing. Its way more mature and laid back, wonderful CD to play while relaxing with a good bottle fo wine. The only bad thing is when I get really caught up in the tune ...its over, leaves me wanting more...
The thing that really gets me is every note he hits you can feel his blood flowing in the notes. Lots of players play from the heart, this dude plays from every part of his body....
Mr. ED & Memphis are my two faves..but I love the whole CD...Shane is the real deal folks..don't buy this CD..BUY THEM ALL.......
