Return to the Lord (Isaiah 55:7, Psalm 27:8, Joel 2:12)
Words and Music by Shannon Mary Sims

Return, return to the Lord, for He will abundantly pardon you.
Come, return to the Lord, for He is merciful.
Come, return, seek His face. Let His compassion speak peace to you.
Return, return to the Lord, the Holy One, your God.

1. Seek His face while He’s near to you, as He calls you by name.
Let His truth pierce your darkened part. Let His words light your way.

2. He will cleanse all your faithlessness. Leave your sin; seek His face.
He will conquer your hardened heart, renew your spirit in grace.

He speaks in your heart and says “seek My face.”
He speaks in your heart and says “seek My face.”

Daily Prayers is a collection of contemplative psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. The songs were originally written for the worship of Trinity Church in Washington, Pennsylvania.

I began writing songs in response to the encouragement of my priest, Karen Stevenson, who would say things like, "Hey Shannon, you could write a song about that, couldn't you?" My dad Gary Scott encouraged me innumerable times and invested generously in my taking some time off to write music. Members of Trinity Washington encouraged me, my friend and mentor in worship music Jeanne Kohn encouraged me, and my husband Steve would say, "You need to write more songs, dear."

Daily Prayers is produced by Michael Yolch of Yolchtone Records. Michael is a musician, worship leader, music producer, illustrator, home improver, husband of a pharmacist, and all around talented guy.

The purpose of Daily Prayers is to be a musical place for people to find God and to experience His presence in the midst of their daily lives. I pray that you will discover more of God's love for you and some of the depth of His unfathomable character through this music.
