Shawn Z. fits the bill of rock, country, folk and humor all in one. Presenting a mixture of stories and songs designed to awaken the slumbering subconscious of any crowd. And his new record titled "Wishful Drinkin" proves it.
On the road endlessly for the last 10 years, Shawn has shared the stage with many artists... traveled up and down the east coast performing in various venues... "It took awhile to find out who I was .. and who I am .. And this is it ... the only place I feel 'at home' is on stage playing my songs for everyone to hear". Shawn says.
Going from singing in a classic rock cover band, to a stripped down acoustic duo .. then onto the acoustic solo act, Shawn don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
His debut CD "Wishful Drinkin" contains songs about optimism, compassion and the ache and humor of aging in the struggle to find something meaningful. It's about never being too old to learn how to feel new things. It's about song and dialogue and cigarette smoke and, ultimately, redemption (and, yes, the word is chosen carefully).
