“A flight into the Abyss” is a mixture of original house, disco, drum and bass, dub reggae, ambient and avant-garde music. However the influence of jazz is huge, which is evident in the chords, harmonies and drums. There are also experimental tracks that contain advanced saxophone performance techniques, such as the altissimo register, multiphonics, harmonics, growls and special effects. The songs are laid out in the theme of Chris’s life. This ranges from working in an architect’s office, to being a student and working abroad. The music represents personal emotions and humanity thought these years.
Shawsax is music composed by British Tenor Saxophonist Christopher Shaw. Chris studied the contemporary saxophone and music production at the London Guildhall University. As a student he loved dance music and had a Saturday night residency

After leaving University Chris worked in the French Alps, Italy, Greece and Menorca
As a holiday Representative, which has a huge influence on the music he composes.
He finally became a full time musician in 2006, which gave him the opportunity to compose and record.
Chris also composes and performs Bebop Jazz with a Jazz Quartet and also plays with the very popular Cheese Doctors around Hampshire. (www.thecheesdoctors.com)
Although he has worked as a session musician, with many popular and jazz artists, he has always loved composing and producing new music.
