ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION >>>>

"Tough, sexy, and whipsmart...Stinger's singer is bionic & the songs alluring," says A.P. Mag. Stinger's cool melodies, and smooth groovy beats come to life with a fringe of euro trash & noir soundtrack around the edges...a soundtrack to the lives of the new seductive insatiable generation. The San Francisco bay area's modern rock group founded by vocalist Alicia Peron and bassist Victor James, delivers floor bombs and live choreography that're exciting, daring, and smooth, with a provocative sound & stunning show that is undeniable."

In their first month as a band, Stinger released their debut on 7" vinyl on their own Muscle Car Records. Two months later, their first CD "Private Collection" followed, also on Muscle Car/C2 Records. The following year, their 2nd CD release, the 13-song "Devil On My Mind," produced by John Ryan (Santana) was supported so strongly by bay area press, radio, and retail, they were offered a deal by Chicago Kid Records to release it in April 2001. Film music supervisors reacted the same way; in January 2002 the Miramax motion picture "Diamonds" starring Kirk Douglas , Dan Aykroyd, Lauren Bacall, and Jenny MacArthy, featured "Fringe Authority" alongside Elvis' "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" The group also had a cameo in the film. SF Weekly's Silke Tudor said "led by the enchanting force that is Alicia Peron, Simon Stinger landed a cameo and song in the Miramax comedy "Diamonds," but that's a small accomplishment next to the realization of "Devil On My Mind" - the most dazzling, fun, and charmingly insolent album Ive heard this year." In August 2002, 15,000 copies of a CD sampler "Here's Your Heart Back" were released by sponsor Saicomm Industries to Simon Stinger fans all over the world. This CD is now out of circulation, but can still be found for sale on ebay.

Stinger's 3rd full length CD "Some Kinda Voodoo" was released by Ann-Margrock Music in November 2003 featuring the production of Sylvia Massy Shivy (Tool, Powerman 5000, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, Bjork, Prince) at Radio Star Studios. Six tracks from Some Kinda Voodoo were added to heavy rotation at AOL Broadband Radio & Netscape Radio. Two of the tracks "French Connection" and "Madame X" were added by music director Cameo Carlson to the AOL alternative station "Best of 2004-2005."

In May 2005 French Connection was Itunes featured single of the week. During their feature, the band charted at #96 of TOP 100 albums overall & #15 of the TOP 100 alternative albums in the alternative genre. In the same year, Elektra senior VP of A&R & former Cars vocalist, Ric Ocasek, discovered Stinger and chose them to be his next musical project for the label. With Elektra Records folding into Atlantic in 2004, the deal was history.

In 2005 Stinger wrote and recorded some of their newest tracks due to be released on the upcoming CD "Boom-Boom Room" out on Sylvia Massy Shivy's cutting-edge National Recorder label in the fall of 2006. The release never happened when Alicia Perrone and Victor James chose to create Electronic/Alternative Dance duo Fans of Jimmy Century.

DON'T WALK......RUN!!!!!!!!
....and get Some Kinda' Voodoo right now! You'll thank yourself(and us...) after you play it once. However, once won't be enough, when you find Simon Stinger to be the hottest new sound in music today. Tired of all the same-old-sounds done by different acts? Well, try on something fresh and original by the next big band! Look like a musical genious when you're the first on your block to listen to Simon Stinger......BEFORE THEY HIT IT BIG!!!!
If this band's catchy hooks and great new pop sounds don't leave you singing along, call an ambulance......because you must be dead!

i've got every stinger cd and this one is by far the best and believe me their other two were hard to top. the song madame x is one of the best songs I've ever heard. i listen to this cd repeatedly. there is not one song on this cd that isn't good. thank god for simon stinger. i would have given up on music a long time ago and almost did. listen to all the songs and buy the cd. your friends will flip and you can say you discovered them!

This band will kick your ass!
If you buy one CD this year, BUY THIS ONE. NO LIE. The music's amazing, the singing is first rate. I'm talkin' right up there with the best singers there are. Modern rock that's hot, rockin', and way fuckin' sweet. Top song picks: French Connection, Madame X, but I don't skip any of them. They've got their own style but remind me a little bit of Siouxsie and The Banshees. Way more modern though and edgy. These guys blow today's radio bands away. They're gonna be a huge band.

"Angel Eyes/GW"

Totally rocken sounds, love it
I've heard a lot of Simon Stingers music, I also work with them. I fell for the music years ago and they stuff they keep dishing out is getting better with every song. I personally love Little Girl Again and Madame X. I cant wait for the next one to roll out. I would highly recommend the cd for anyone. I buy a few and give them to my friends as gifts and just so that the band can become bigger and hotter then they already are. Love ya guys!!!!! Angel

Stingerette!

GREAT BIG FAT LOVE FOR SIMON STINGER
I am so stung I'm a pitiful groveling Stinger disciple now. Thank you for the best music I've heard in years. If you don't buy this by Simoon Stinger, you're without.

Hit Factory!
There've got to be at least 6 hit songs on this 9 songer CD. Imagine what they can do with a 14-song disc! I'll be buying both.

Original, Energetic, Compelling Original Lyrics, Strong Vocals & Powerful Instru
If your tired of that "cookie cutter", media machine polished, one song sounds the same as the rest style of music being pushed by the major record labels, then you'll love this Band & CD!! Simon Stinger has a sound all their own from Alicia's dynamic vocals, Mary's hard hitting guitar play, Victor's superlative bass handling and Elvis' masterfully skilled percussions they have cut out their own piece of the music pie. Together as a group they have the skill and talent to cross traditional music gender lines from the racy, rocker style of "French Connection" (my personal fav) & "Blackout (Down in Mexico)" to the techno, electro style of "Madame X". There is something that will appeal to every music listener on this CD. Get your piece of the future now because as the song says "The Future Will Blow You Away..."! Oh, and if you ever get the chance to see one of their live shows, don't pass it up! The amount of energy released on stage is truly unbelievable and you'll know where they get the energy to pour into their music...they rock!!!

Band from California brings ectasy to all listeners
The latest addition to the Simon Stinger collection far exceeds all previous attempts. "Voodoo" brings to the table what few bands today are capable of. From the first pop track, "French Connection" to the last haunting feeling one gets from "Let Me Burn" this brilliant album keeps the audience captivated and moving. Very catchy grooves, super sexy lyrics and blistering guitar makes this cd one of the best of the year. The first 3 tracks are ripe and ready to be played in any club. The beauty of Alicia Perrones vocals are showcased in all of the tracks. New member Mary Cary adds a style that compliments the songs and brings the music to new levels, along with the vice-tight bass and drums of Vic and Elvis. The mix is solid, the songwriting mature, the tracks are short and to the point. The point being, get up and have a good time. This album will project Simon Stinger into the stratosphere.

Simon Stinger puts it all into perspective -
Let's get one thing straight. Music on the radio today is crap. I don't know who's signing bands these days, but it's tired and majorly screwed up. Simon Stinger could change all that if you idiots would play them on the radio instead. The Future will blow your mind is a song that will kick you into high gear. There is not a doubt in my mind that that song from Some Kinda Voodoo along with a couple others are hit songs. I'd buy ten of these CD's to give as gifts if I had the cash. If I had enough cash, I'd sign Stinger myself.
