ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With "Plubuktosaga" -- a double-album, and Skaltros' 7th release -- Alaska's foremost black metal artist, Skaltros, continues to pioneer an uncompromising vision of southeast Alaskan black metal. The band's sole member -- Nukshean -- lives on an island in rural southeast Alaska, where he writes, records, and performs all music. Starting in 2011, Nukshean began custom building all instruments and effects pedals used by Skaltros.

In a world of diluted and stylistically compromised black metal -- particularly within the USBM scene -- Skaltros stays true to the roots of the genre, pursuing a vision of black metal which bears similarity to BM legends such as Burzum, Darkthrone, Taake, and Marduk. An isolated rural lifestyle affords Nukshean the opportunity to pursue Skaltros' dark vision of individualism within the vastness of Alaska's Tongass forest.
