ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Skerlak started perfoming at the age of 16 in New jersey and was in the studio recording. Two of his original tunes appear on this CD. He then went on and lived life and in 1984 wrote, perfomed and produced more original music about his life a generation later. Then in 2005 he is completing the three generation triology by taking his best tunes from 2005 back to 1961 and compiling them in reverse order starting with his "Funeral" and working back talking about the good and bad times of his life and in particular his battle with depression and how it effected his life as he now looks back at the end of his life. All original and real music.

The highs and lows of life.
Sherlak Dead and The Salt River Band have compiled an eighteen plus one hidden track CD. The songs look at the highs and lows of life from the perspective of a 50-year-old with a smoky voice. The first five grouping of songs are from 2005 and have a country-rock flavor and feature the best production. Tracks six through sixteen are from 1984 and echo textures and tones from that decade. Sherlak's singing was smoother back then. 'Jersey Shore' from this period is a spirited song about the fun Skerlak had growing up in New Jersey during the 60's. The last few songs date back to 1961. They are a bit raw but capture the sprit of a sixteen year old who is making music for the first time. A Waste Of Oxygen is a mostly up-tempo rock CD that pokes fun at life and aging!

Beautiful, Haunting, Amazing Retrospect
What beautifully, haunting music and lyrics. You definitely placed your heart and soul in this, and I think it's wonderful. What an amazing retrospect, but I do hope you plan to do more.
