Album Notes
Rising from the ashes of creativity, drive, experience, success and resistance, Skitzo Calypso continues to evolve as the mid-Atlantic independent rock n’ roll band that refuses to give up or compromise its vision, for the sake of quick album sales, instant success, popularity or social acceptance.

In the commercially-sustained candy-coated rock n’ roll landscape of the 21st Century, dominated by college pop/rock and cookie-cutter Picassos, it is important for talented musicians to take the risk and stand up for a higher standard of artistry, in an effort to quash the bumble-gum music plaguing the pop airwaves [over the past decade].

Despite their unique approach and exclusive sound, Skitzo Calypso has been received and accepted genre-wide, which is a true representation and victory of their intention.

Skitzo Calypso is here to stay.

The band has shared touring slots with: The Brides of Destruction (featuring: Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue & Tracii Guns of Guns n’ Roses), Amen, The Living Things, Slaughter, Bile, Nocturne, Gotham Road (featuring: Michael Graves of The Misfits), Seven Mary Three, Skid Row, L.A. Guns, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Powerman 5000, Tribal Tongue, The Sex Slaves, Local H, 12 Stones, Tony Hawk\'s Thrash n\' Jam at M&T Bank Stadium and more!

The band started as Brad Cox’s solo project in 1996. After recording the 5th studio album, and releasing a 13 song collection of these efforts, including two previously unreleased tracks, the band was assembled.

The band\'s new album, “Between the Lines & Beyond the Static,” is now available!

Currently the band is working on a new studio release, tentatively untitled!

Great, just great!
I just got this CD and it's just phenomenal! I wish that there was more that I could say, but just buy it and love it. That's what I did, and I have no regets.

Love! Love! Love! I can not say it enough!!!!
This CD is one of the best that I own. Not just because for me it is a local band but because it sounds great. They couldn't have done it any better. Even my friends have already bought their own cd. I tell ya they are going to be bigger then we though.

The album is AMAZING, better than I expected. The songs sound alot more professional, and melodic. I love the remake of "The Things I Could Never Change". The album sounds nothing like the rest of the Skitzo Collection. The artwork is very professional and looks really cool, especially the collage w/ the Monroe Overlay.

I listened to the album twice in two hours, its just that good.

In the land of American Idol and bad haircuts:
Usually, I have a negative view of local bands from maryland because, well ....they SUCK to the massive volumes. There is no reason for 7 kids (usually 2 of the 7 spend more time on there hair than their sister does) to form a band and then break up because they can't choose a band name like "the black parade" or "up up down down".

But Skitzo Calypso is different.

You don't have to like Skitzo Calypso to respect them. Any band that sticks to their own sound and doesnt follow the horrible trend of pussy foot dancing to unlistenable songs that clock in just under 2 minutes (NOT the ramones) gets a thumbs up from me.

This cd is probably there most polished and best effort just rocking out next to "the shattering" and now I can even relate to a the tracks on this current album. The album artwork even looked as if it got an upgrade but still leaving the touch of personal images inside to remind you that they are just human with the taste of music on their tounges. Brad's voice has also evolved in the new tracks, hitting new pitches and melodic screams which tickle my music senses since singing is one of my favorite things to do (in the car). The guitarists sound even more amazing now than ever and the drumming just pulls everything together.

This album is just another glimpse of what Skitzo is destin to accomplish - mainstream gradituted. They keep pumping out unique to their sound and feel tracks and more and more people keep tuning them in. In one of the songs i felt like getting up and just smashing stuff because it got me pretty pumped up!

I'm stuck on tracks 1, 4, and 6.

plus anybody that can cover "welcome to the jungle" perfectly is a hero in my book (AWESOME song, horrible individual - yes i'm talking about axel rose and his stupid snake dance). So while your waiting for "chinese democracy" to come out, give this cd a spin and just admire everthing from the lyrics to the solos.
