Sky-Pony is a Brooklyn-based band that serves up lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy dose of theatrics. They frequently incorporate costumes, choreography, and projections into their high-energy live shows.
A collaboration between husband-and-wife team Lauren Worsham and Kyle Jarrow, it also features the talents of guitarist Kevin Wunderlich, drummer Perry Silver, bassist Eric Day, cellist David Blasher, and backup singers Jessi Suzuki and Megan Stern.
A little more info on the bandleaders:
Musician and writer Kyle Jarrow has previously fronted the bands THE FABULOUS ENTOURAGE (featured in the Whitney Biennial) and SUPER MIRAGE. His work for theater includes A VERY MERRY UNAUTHORIZED CHILDREN'S SCIENTOLOGY PAGEANT and WHISPER HOUSE (with Duncan Sheik). He wrote the screenplay for the movie ARMLESS, an official selection of the Sundance Film Festival.
Singer/actress Lauren Worsham's credits include opera (DOG DAYS at Montclair Peak Performances, CANDIDE at New York City Opera) as well as musical theater (WHERE'S CHARLEY at City Center Encores, CARNIVAL at Goodspeed). She's performed in concert at venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Oregon Bach Festival, and NYC's Joe's Pub.
When their powers combine, Sky-Pony is the result. Like Captain Planet, but sexier.
