ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Kaisi Madhur Shyaam is an eclectic mix of Indian Devotional /Bhakti as well as Shringaar ras compositions that speak of the various colours of Krishna's love - from the playful episodes with the gopikas of Brindavan to the fervent calls of his devotees,

Hindustani Classical and Sufi vocalist Smita Bellur takes you through an array of emotions in this CD. With her classical Khayal training in guru-shishya parampara, the songs are presented with a semi-classical flavour.

The great Bhakti Cult saints such as Meera, Surdas and Bramhanand are covered in the Bhakti compositions, whereas the Holi, Chaiti and Kajri are traditional compositions.
