With music ranging from Bach to contemporary Spanish composers, Soliloquy provides just the right mood to ease the tensions of the fast pace world we live in today. The following is a review from the Wichita Falls Times and Record News.
"The more personal "Soliloquy" resembles a program the guitarist might perform in concert. The resulting recording is one that a music lover could quietly listen to and appreciate on a variety of emotional and aesthetic levels.
Canafax's musical approach and recorded performances underscores the notion that fine playing should sound effortless. Emotional, warm and technically sound, his newest recording sounds inspired, heartfelt and even joyful. These qualities are translated to the listener.
Even the technically demanding "Third Cello Suite" from Johann Sebastian Bach, which Canafax artfully arranged closely to the cello and performs in an open tuning, draws less attention to the actual technique and properly emphaizes the music. That alongside his impressive performances of short pieces, such as Emilio Pujol's "Paisaje," makes this recording natural and impressive.
...Listeners who appreciate passionate and intelligent guitar music will find a fine gathering of recorded classical pieces with "Soliloquy."
