Songs For Judah

Solace and Fury. Melancholy, soothing vocals intertwined with cellos and dark electro-acoustic rhythms. Best loud and in the dark.

Album Notes

Hailing from San Francisco, 25 year old lead singer, songwriter, arranger and producer Amber Tisue has composed an album full of sultry vocals entwined among soothing cello lines and dark rhythms. Her music is heart-wrenching, warm, melancholy, reflective, but most of all- moving. She began writing songs at the age of 13 on her mother's guitar, and was raised on such artists as Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Rondstat, and Cat Stevens. Her personal musical influences cross various genres, from folk, to electronic, to industrial goth and world music. She has been compared to artists such as Sarah Mclachlan, Dido, Ani Difranco, Portisehead, Everything but the Girl, Cocteau Twins, and Tori Amos. The band hosts a roster of incredible musicians: Bryan Solon on drums and percussion, Pawel Walerowski on avante-guarde cello, and an ever changing roster of famous compsers from the Bay Area and Los Angeles. A good friend described her music as "Winter on the east coast.." She took it as a compliment. So take a listen, light some candles and drink some wine... but they're best loud and in the dark...
