ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ripe When Yields to Gentle Pressure is an 8 minutes piece for voice, prepered zithers and other sounds. It's the first single from a new upcomming album by the critically acclaimed composer and performer Jeanette Sollén from Sweden. She manages to combine the avantguardian, experimental electroacustic genre with a soulfull and emotional expression that deeply touches.
A music for both heart and mind.

When it was first perfomed at a consert with upcomming Swedish composers the press wrote: "A concert of a wide range and full of surprices and with two names I think will be heard throughout the world of music. Tobias Broström and Jeanette Sollén. Both possess an originality in their music which provides that extra edge and attraction.
Jeanette Sollén’s piece ”Ripe when...” appeared as sent from heaven. Music that slowly penetrated the soul deeply, that fascinated and touched. The absence of [physical] performers on stage, was compensated by a different world of timbre." Tommie Ling, Helsingborgs Dagblad

A Joyful music for the spirit
Every time I listen at Jeanette's music it seems to me like gathering precious roses for an exceptional unique, precious bunch.
Being a musical critic I listen to a ton on music but Jeanette's one is so rich of content in such a personal and intimate form that stands everytime at the highest peaks.
Through her music I can hear hundred of voices singing haunting melodies. My soul's awaken by the uncommon, ancien sound of enchented zithers that unfold layers of sound in her organized landscapes. Knowing her I discovered such an hunrgy mind that allows het to be able to speak her own language letting us know she have already listened to Steve Reich and Laurie Anderson, John Cage and Stockhausen, Robert Fripp and Terry Riley, Philip Glass and Claude Debussy and..
But as I listen to any never heard befor music by Miss Sol[èn, I immediately recognise her stunning talent and her wonderous voice: "That's Jeanette!".
She's always worked for theatre and plays and this somewhat overshadowed her music.
Now I have been told she's working hard at her very first "stand alone" album whose this tune is a beautiful, dark, haunting herald.
Surely not music for everyone, but I am sure she is going to be discovered by the world.
And this will become a better place then for every gentle hearted and open minded person.
Thank you Jeanette Solléen.

Great new music from sweden
I bought "Die Loreley", Jeanette's only available cd, the music for a ballet. And it's fantatic. Really new music with layer of voices, saxophones in fast patterns, zithers and keyboars. But this new piece surely push forward in a quite impressive way. Pure new music. Really amazing.
