Founded in 1983 by a group of Blues-loving students from Aachen University, Somebody Wrong Bluesband quickly made a name and was featured as supporting act for Chris Farlowe, Long John Baldry, Mitch Ryder and Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
Based on the classic blues of B.B. King and Muddy Waters, Somebody Wrong´s approach to the Blues has always been evolving. Blues is the foundation, but elements of swing, rock ‘n’ roll, rhythm ‘n’ blues and jam rock assure a highly varied program.
The current lineup of the band is: Christine Isensee (vocals), Albrecht Peltzer (guitar), Martin Peltzer (organ and piano), Alex Wilde (guitar and backing vocals), Jo Stark (bass and backing vocals) and Chris Andrae (drums).
Since 1991 the annual "Blues Nacht” at Jakobshof is a highlight of the Aachen concert calendar.
In 1993 the band recorded their first CD, recorded live in concert in Aachen Malteserkeller and Jakobshof. In 2002, the acclaimed second album ("Just Live") followed, also a live recording from the Jakobshof.
The new CD – a live one again – was recorded at the Jakobshof (again). Given the fact that Somebody Wrong Bluesband is merely a live band, recreating their sound in a sterile studio-situation was not an option. This time the lineup had been augmented by a brass section – the “Friends” – consisting of Boris Bansbach (alto and tenor sax), Heribert Leuchter (soprano and bariton sax) and Markus Plum (trombone), all three well-known Jazz musicians in the area.
“Somebody Wrong Bluesband and Friends” captures the spirit of an energetic live performance in a packed house – for all those who couldn´t make it to be there on the spot. Don´t miss it!
