This is the first release in a series of live recordings from Bangkok of the Mahler symphonies under Somtow Sucharitkul with the Siam Philharmonic Orchestra. Somtow's bold plan to produce the entire Mahler cycle in Bangkok has evoked a tremendous response from music lovers in the area especially young people and performances have been high-charged, exhilarating events.
