Album Notes
(30 years career)

Sonia Santos - singer, composer, actress and educator.

Sonia Santos have been a symbol of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) for many years. The strong influence of African rhythms, mixed within the Brazilian music as we know it, created Sonia Santos; a singer of Afro-Brazilian Jazz different from any other brazilian singer.
The quality level and style of her artistic performances on and off the stage was extremely welcomed in Europe, Africa, South America, Asia and United States where she’s based.

She started her career in Rio de Janeiro (1977) at the Musical of Hotel National called “Brazilian Follies”. Latter (1984) with her own group sponsored by VARIG Brazilian Airlines developed her abilities as an artistic director and general coordinator of the show called “Brazilian Summers”.

Besides Ms.Santos work in the theater and excellent reviews in the motion picture industry, it is her singing that fulfills her innermost endeavors as a artist. With her magical rhythm and charm on the stage, she sings of the wonderfulness of the human preoccupation with peace, love and faith in life and the world.

Sonia Santos came to US in 1990 as a lead singer of Oba Oba a renown Brazilian Review, In 1994, she founded a business partnership with brazilian singer Ana Gazzola and together they invented the Brasil Brazil Show
