Album Notes
Silk City is pleased to announce the release of live recordings by the Son Lewis Blues Band. DARK PAST (Silk City LPD 2025) represents highlights of his band's live performances over the last two decades. Showcasing some of the FINEST musicians to have passed through his band, like Ron Petronzi, Jerry Fierro and John Pittas! Also featured are Carl Muller (of Impact and The Flying Muller Brothers), Joe Siciliano, Len Goldstein, Frank Fumosa, Randy Smith and current band members Rich Downs (bass) and Alan Camlet (drums).

Many of the performances here were captured on analog tape, and while much has been done to master this new release, most of the original charm and warmth of the recorded performances was left intact (along with some of the analog hiss).

Recorded live in larger venues like The John Harms Center for the Performing Arts, The Wilson Auditorium at Fairleigh Dickenson University AND smaller Blues landmarks like The Stanhope House and The Turning Point, the CD features some “house rocking” crowd-pleasers and some simmering and solid Blues. The CD closes with the band’s cooking version of Olatunji’s “Jingo”, featuring a smoking duel between Fierro’s Congas and Camlet’s drums.
