ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mountain Air opened up Spencer's music to a new audience when it was originally released by the now defunct indie/gift industry label North Star Records in 2006. it featured a most creative collection of songs taken from 5 different albums, including The Healing Distance, Green Mountain Suite, Vermont Serenades, Silence Between the Words and In the Light of Autumn. There's a decidedly balanced approach by alternating between the simpler more reflective pieces to those that are both upbeat and feature more production and guest artists that was the norm in this middle era of his prolific catalog.
From the original liner notes:
Spencer Lewis makes his home in the Green Mountains of Vermont, where the water runs clear and cold and the stone walls that grace the countryside have lasted for generations. You can hear that in the music that Spencer makes - simple and clean, with deep roots. The rich sound of his acoustic guitars and his fiddle, along with a few friends to add a little piano here, some mandolin there, and maybe a bit of bass and drums to move things along. it's a sound that's real and honest to help clear your head - like a long cool breath of pure Mountain Air.
