"Jan Spillane is an energetic, true southern troubadour from Savannah, GA with a degree in understanding that if you're not feeling it then don't do it. Fusing together folk, blues, country and a touch of jazz, she literally sounds like no one else.
Playing piano and guitar, Spillane has released four impressive CD's and has plans to release her 5th, “Blue Canvas” late fall in 2011. She also has a single coming out in October of 2010, “Good as Gold”. A member of ASCAP, AMA, and The Recording Academy (NARAS), her credits include: 2010 Regional Finalist in the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest | 2008/2009 "If looks could Kill” Promo on Showtime Cable Networks popular TV Series “The L Word” | 2007 “What It’s Not”, Single song publishing contract with AhHa Music Group, co-written with Wood Newton | 2006 “Ole blue Jeans” Signed representation agreement with Portia Entertainment Group | 2000 "Time Keeps (Remix)" featured alongside Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" song on a video, titled "100 Years of Tybee Island", co-written with Phil Hadaway & John Graham | 1999 "A lady knows when to Leave" Voted one of the best R&B songs by Billboard Magazine's World Competition | 1982 Winner of vocal competition which led to singing the Miller Commercial "Welcome to Miller Time".
Jan has worked in the studio, written, performed with and/or shared stage with a who's who list of notable artists including Ben Wells, John Banks, Phil McDonald, Michael McDougald, Wood Newton, Stan Webb, Danny Schmidt, Markham Brown, Drivin’ & Cryin’, The Trainwrecks Band, J.
