Stanley Alejandro Clementina is also known as "Pure The Artist".
Pure the artist is more than just your typical man from the Caribbean with dreadlocks, a good tan, flawless feeling for rhythm and groovy dance moves.
Pure is also a multitalented straight-from-the-heart/driven by heart artist, dominating several musical instruments and blessed with a precious rough-edged soulful voice. His natural ability of writing smoothly flowing verses and symphonic melodies attributed to a pile of songs eagerly waiting to be unleashed and heard by the world.
Pure the Artist was literarily feb by the richness, culture and legacy of his native island, Curacao. Comming from a religious and musicak family. Pure's singing talent was firmly rooted in church. The first song he's ever written was therefore a gospel song, which was released and hit the charts on the island. His first encounter with a musical instrument was one he would never forget, his uncle handed him a bass and told him that he must learn to play it within a few weeks because he was starting a latin band and needed a bass player. That’s when Pure fell in love with the bass.
Years later, driven by his curiosity and inquisition to know more about music he engaged in two simultaneous studies for bass and vocals at a conservatory.
While studying, Pure explored and cultivated its abilities by being part of different projects and supporting different artists such as Glennis Grace, Jandino Asporaat. Postman, Phatt, Re-play, Danny Yanga, Frank Mccomb. In the midst of it all Pure started to visualize and create it’s own style and perception of the artist he wanted to be and how he wanted to portray himself to the world and how he’s going to do it. This is where his journey began.
The name “Pure the Artist” stands for the purity of music and the purity in a person; Keeping everything as pure and natural as possible;straight from the heart, truthful music.
Right now Pure is working on his debut album, named “Reality Check”. The songs on this album are all based on true stories, true struggles of life…no fairy tales! On his album Pure exposes his two faces. Starting with the conventional neo soul ballads meeting expectations, followed by more edgy eyebrow-raising songs, which is not usually done by soul singers. Besides showing his broad taste of music, background and liking of also the genre rock, he mainly wants to underline (by these contrasts) that he doesn't want to be put in a box.
In the future, Pure would like to expand his wings outside Europe. He also wants too go back to his roots and focusing on the island and how he could help promote his language and be an ambassador of his homeland, culture and music.
