Drummer, composer, artist, poet, dancer, visionary, nature mystic: Bob Moses's life has been a continuous quest for vision, spirit, compassion, growth, and mastery in a multiplicity of art forms. The album Love Everlasting, recorded September 23, 1987, features Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, John Medeski, and John Lockwood, while the album Drumming Birds, also 1987, features percussion duets with Billy Martin.

Tommy Lockett
From bassist extraordinaire to music editor and sound engineer, Tommy Lockett, CEO, of HEAT RECORDS has been making music since he attended the renown Berklee School of Music in Boston in the late 70’s. There he studied composition with Michael Gibbs, and played in Herb Pomeroy’s recording band where he met Frank Macchia who hired him as Bassist for his Jazz Fusion band, BOOGA BOOGA. At the same time, he studied Audio Engineering and Music Synthesis with Michael Rendish and played regularly with a Free jazz Group called SEARCH performing with THE ART ENSEMBLE OF CHICAGO, featuring Lester Bowie, Arthur Blythe, Tiger Okoshi, The Fringe, Baird Heresy, and The Year of the Ear.

In 1981, Lockett moved to San Francisco with Booga Booga, immersing himself in the local music scene meeting and playing with artists such as Mingo Lewis (Chick Corea, Todd Rungren, The Tubes), Atma Anur, Colin chin, Herb Pomeroy, Ron Feuer, David Goldblatt, Michael Moore, Rick Vandivier, Ray Frisbie, Lindsey Boullt, to name a few. In the mid-80’s he joined THE PICKLE FAMILY CIRCUS, a single ring European circus where he performed with artist Bill Irwin, Geoff Hoyle, Masha Dimitri and Larry Pisoni. Many of the performers went on to work with the “Cirque du Soleil.

A move to Los Angeles in the late 80’s found him playing with “THE 21st BAND” aka “ELECTRIO”. He quickly gained a reputation as being a highly skilled bassist and became the ‘ghost’ bassist for many heavy metal bands whose regular players looked good but couldn’t hold a beat! His engineering talent led him to Japan to record and mix for “THE FULL MOON SHOW”, featuring host Robbie Robertson of “THE BAND”.

Since then Lockett has had the opportunity to record such artists as Arturo Sandoval, Dee Light, The O’Jays, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Cheap Trick, Rickie Lee Jones, Morris Day, Salt n’ Pepper, Celine Dion, Lyle Lovett, The Temptations, Alabama, to name a few.

HEAT RECORDS was formed in 1993, happily returning him to his jazz-fusion roots. His first album “HEAT BECOMES LIGHT” featured Jamie Glaser (Manhattan Transfer, Chick Corea and the Electrik band, Jean Luc Ponty on guitar, Ray Frisbie, and Ed Smith. He has also produced John Stowell, Stanley Sagov, Underthings, as well as Indie Alternative bands on his label.

In the 90’s he was introduced to film score composer, BILL CONTI, which led him down an unexpected path of FILM SCORING and MUSIC EDITING. He has worked on more than 35 feature films for various composers including Bill Conti, George Fenton, John Frizzell, Mark Isham, Reinhold Heil, Johnny Klimek, the London Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras.

Stan Strickland
Singer, saxophonist, flutist, actor Stan Strickland has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, the Caribbean, New Zealand and the former Soviet Union. In addition to numerous radio and television appearances, Stan has performed in many clubs and concert halls, including Jordan and Symphony Halls in Boston, Carnegie Recital Hall and Town Hall in New York, and at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. His work has been featured on recordings by Bob Moses, Marty Erlich, Webster Lewis and Brute Force. Stan has performed with jazz greats Yusef Lateef, Pharoah Sanders, Herbie Mann, Danilo Perez, Shirley Scott and Marlena Shaw. Love & Beauty, Stan's new jazz vocal CD, featuring new arrangements of great jazz classics as well as original material, was released by Hawkline Records in 2005.

Stan has opened for Jazz greats Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins, and for Barenaked Ladies. He toured South Africa with The Village People, and was a featured soloist with Take Six and the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall.
His acting experience includes the leading roles in the Boston Art Group's production of Harlem Renaissance, NotheasternUniversity's production of Crossing John, and Dr. Sax in a production of Jon Lipsky's play about Jack Kerouac, Maggie's Riff, produced by the Vineyard Playhouse.
Stan has performed and collaborated with over a dozen choreographers including Alvin Ailey, Jose Limon, and Bill T. Jones.

Stan is profiled/featured, (along with Blair Underwood and Lamar Burton), in a new film documentary that was filmed this past spring, entitled Black Man Up.
He has performed at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of Academy Award winning documentary Born into Brothels and at three exclusive fashion/fragrance events for fashion icon Donna Karan
Stan has a M.A. degree from Lesley College in Expressive Arts Therapy where he is an adjunct professor. He also teaches at Berklee College of Music, Tufts University and Longy School of Music.

Stan is Co-Executive Director of Express Yourself, a multidisciplinary team of professional artists, working in partnership with adolescents in public mental health residential facilities to produce multimedia performances that celebrate the restorative powers of serious art making.


Mike Peipman




Born in Sydney, Australia, studied at N.S.W. Conservatorium of Music and played the seasons for "The Wiz" and "Man of La Mancha" at Her Majesty's theatre before coming to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music.



Combining the careers of lead trumpet player and Jazz soloist, he has:

* Toured with numerous groups such as the Artie Shaw Orchestra and the Woody Herman Orchestra led by Frank Tiberi.
*Recorded two Blue Note Albums- "So What" and "African Game" with George Russell's Living Time Orchestra.
*Played on the soundtracks to numerous movies such as, "Young At Heart", "Prefontaine". "Silver City", and "Dick Tracy".

*Performed at numerous Jazz Festivals:

 -Kool Jazz Festival with George Russell

Great Listen for Any Jazz Enthusiast
“Looking Forward to Remembering the Future” by Stanley Sagov is a soothing and serene collection of jazz tunes that demonstrate an intricate exploration of versatility. This album is exceptionally unique, and thereby irresistible. These compositions stretch the boundaries of traditional jazz forms with their fluid, ever-changing natures and use of ambient sounds. This is especially notable in “Falling With Didgeridoo.” Moreover, the variety and intricacy of the individual musicians on “Friday Night At The Cadillac Club” denotes the highly-skilled and innovative instrumentation that is not easy to duplicate. The piano work on “2 Chord, Toobad” is strong and forceful. This song also flaunts some great trumpet and sax solos and duos. “Hope For Peace Piece” slows things down a bit and exudes a heavenly piano intro. Furthermore, “Stanley’s Kwela” adds a light Latin jazz flavor, giving a glimpse of the versatility of these accomplished musicians. Topped with unmatched production, this CD is a must-have for the jazz enthusiast.
