Album Notes
Stella’s latest project combines all of her extraordinary talents in a tribute to the hard working men and women of the coal mining industry. According to Stella, “coal miners and their families are people of power, pride and passion and I have tried to convey all of these same emotions in this musical tribute to the American coal miner and to American coal.” This brand new CD and show, aptly named American Coal, contains a selection of heart- warming and passionate coal mining songs about coal miners, tracing the history of coal and its importance to the nation. Wonderful Country Music
“American Coal” is the newest released album from the talented singer, Stella Parton, and is comprised of wonderful Country music. As the title of this album suggests, it is dedicated to the men and women who spend their life working in the coal mining industry. Parton also includes brief narrations within the CD describing the history of coal and the significance it brings to our nation. Her bouncy rendition of “Sixteen Tons” on the song “Coal Medley” is sweet and charming as she sings of the labors of the hard working coal miner. Another song, “Coal Tattoo” generates heartfelt lyrics with tasty Country Rock tonality. “I’m A Coal Mining Man” is pure Country at its best as Parton voice is strong and sincere accompanied by a smooth and flowing beat. If you like good old Country music with a splash of Rock then “American Coal” is an album you will really enjoy, especially if you’re a fan of Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette.
