Bistro Fada

by Stephane Wrembel

This song is a theme running through Woody Allen's new movie, "Midnight in Paris". He was looking for a typical French Parisian song that would fit the atmosphere and soul of Paris, and this is what I composed. Enjoy!

Better sound for the song
I have a simple program that beefs up the sound and would be happy to e-mail it to anyone that wants it at no charge but I'm not sure how this website would feel about that. Maybe there is some way to limit this to people who have already bought the song

Wonderful tune - I'd like to have the sheet music is it possible?
Hi I just loved the song and the movie. Is the sheet music available for sale? even if it's in a draft form it would be wonderful. kind regards from Sao Paulo.

I feel gyp'ed! (no offense Django)
Great song, but the recording is sooo bad. To hear it properly, you have to turn the volume way up - and then you get the background white noise with it. Please re-record the song because it's the only full version available. (I'll even pay another buck fifty for a good version.) Thank you.

Learning the tune
I was able to pick out all the notes of the tune and I'm now I'm practicing it on the guitar. It's been very exciting to learn.
For the life of me, though, I cannot figure out the chords that provide the background rhythm.
Anyone have an idea what chords are being played?
Also wondering if the tablature will ever be made available? Thanks!

Response to Jeff
Jeff,
I haven't yet had time to work out the chords to the C section (only section that occurs just once), but here are the chords to the A and B sections.

Intro: Em - F#m7b5 - B7 (repeat)

A: Em - B7 - Em - B7 - Em - E7 - Am - Em - C7 - B7 - Em

B: B7 - Em (alternate between these two chords for entire section)

One other complicating factor. While vamping on one chord, Wrembrel usually moves the root note around. (the root note is the "boom" of boom-chick-chick) For example, on Em, he plays and e for the first boom, then a g (the 3 of the Em triad) for the second boom. And on the B7, he alternates the bass between the 1 (b) and the 5 (f#).

The C section jumps around a bit more, but I hope this helps get you started. It's a fun piece.

gorgeous, but...
...why is the volume so freakin' low on the track?

Charles

Chords
The chords are the same as in "Indifférence" (except in bar 29 where Stephane Wrembel uses C7 instead of F#7), you can download it from
www.gypsyguitar.de/downloads/gg-downloads/fakebook_django_2008.pdf
Hope this helps...enjoy!

Great Muisc for a Great Film
This was an excellent choice for Mr. Wilson to stroll the streets of Paris. Wish the volume was a bit higher. Awesome motion picture gave me the inspiration to visit Paris one day!!!!
