Album Notes
God has given us, in Christ, an anchor for the soul and a foundation for our lives. Throughout church history we have been blessed with hymn writers who have reflected in their poetry these great Scriptural truths with careful accuracy and aesthetic beauty. As we have arranged these hymns, we have chosen old and new hymns with texts that are rich and deep and tunes that are winsome. Their greatest impact will come as the listener memorizes the lyrics and sings the melody in praise to God. “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” Hebrews 13:15

I want to thank the present Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team for the wonderful blessing they have been as we have served together for these past three years. They have manifested Christ in their service and have grown in His likeness as they have walked in obedience. They have worked tirelessly and sacrificially on this music, most of which is used nightly in our ministry in local churches. The team members are:

Joel Albright – cello, acoustic guitar, Irish bouzouki, double bass
Megan Albright – Irish bodhrán
David Chapman – classical guitar, acoustic guitar
Mike Egerdahl – double bass
Philip Emory – violin, viola, acoustic guitar, mandolin
Amy Schlarb – flute, penny whistle, recorder
Rebekah Snyder – piano, accordion
Steve Pettit – mandolin, hammered dulcimer

I would also like to thank several of our friends who participated in this project who were former team members or served at Northland Camp and Conference Center with us: Christy Galkin (violin), Aaron Coffey (acoustic guitar), Phil Woodhull (mandolin), and Stephen Pettit (acoustic guitar). A special thanks goes to Kristin Campbell and Jonathan Albright for their tireless effort in the studio helping us to get the “right sound.” Your expertise, concern, and love for what we’ve done all these years does not go unnoticed or without the recognition that it could not be done without your help. Thank you, Mike Wilson, for being such a professional in the studio and letting us know how much you enjoy working with us.

Finally, I want to give thanks to my lovely wife, Terry, for the continued life of sacrifice that she has exemplified to hundreds of church members, to our evangelistic team and especially to our children. It is with the deepest gratitude that we offer these songs as a constant reminder of what we have in the finished work of Christ on the cross and His glorious resurrection from the dead!
