ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Though this album was first published in 2000, the music it contains actually dates back much further with the majority of the tracks having been recorded between 1990 and 1994. The Marok Suite - spread across this album - was initially intended for an EP release that never happened and only now is available in its entirety. The synthesizers and sequencers used for this album are less poweful than those used in the artist's later works - due partly to the limitations of the hardware of the era but mostly to the artist's chronic lack of cash at the time - yet this allows the music to come through with an urgency and honesty that is easy to let slip in more high tech configurations. Limitation often promotes creativity, a sentiment that shines out in the artist's later post-minimalist work - perhaps the roots of some of those later works can be seen in these pieces here.
